02/28/11 IBC Finalist StevieJ Sat On The Couch

The son of a preacher, Stevie J (Stephen Johnson) was introduced to the "devil's music" when he met the great Bobby Rush. From that point on, his musical life has been on the fast track heading to stardom. Stevie J was awarded "Contemporary Blues Artist - Male" for the Jus' the Blues Awards in 2011. He was a finalist at the just completed International Blues Challenge and his newest project "The Diversity Project" is making noise in music circles.



We spoke with Stevie about his journey and discussed the new album and heard three songs during our time together.
