01/09/12 - Sean Carney Sat On The Couch

Sean Carney had traveled to Memphis with Teeny Tucker twice for the International Blues Challenge. Both times they made it to the finals.

Both times they came in Third Place and both times Sean was a Finalist for the Albert King Most Promising Guitarist Award.

Then in 2007, Sean brought his own band to Memphis for the IBC and made the finals.

This time they won and Sean took home the Albert King Award.

This Columbus, OH native has been playing around the world ever since. His music is as good as it gets and on top of it all, his Charity BLUES FOR A CURE, has raised over $50,000.00 since its inception.

Sean joined me to discuss his life, his IBC years and the years after. he shared some information regarding the IBC for future entrants and we played music from his Very Lucky Man album.
