On Friday, February 21, an album release party was held at The Bluesberry Cafe in Clarksdale, MS.
Owned by Arthur & Carol Crivano and ably assisted by their daughter, Amanda, the Bluesberry is a must-do if you are anywhere near Clarksdale.
Along with your entry fee (1/2 of which went to help The HART Fund and Generation Blues), you received a delicious Spaghetti and Meatball Dinner (Arthur is famous for his meatballs).
Jeff, Bill & Doug were the band for the evening and they began with an acoustic set to get the crowd ready for Mick's performance.
Also there were Redd Velvet, who joined Mick for a song and then dominated the stage for a few numbers as only this talent can do.
And, of course, local resident and world-wide star, Watermelon Slim was in the house and added his special brand of humor during the night, even leading the crowd in a rousing performance of Happy Birthday and then, he also took to the stage to sing, play some harp and entertain as only he can.
Carson Diersing was also in attendance and he joined Mick and the band to blow some harp and even sang one song and then Deak Harp and Carson did some great harp runs together.
