03/18/13 Andy Tanas Sat On The Couch

Andy Tanas began as a sound tech for bands such as Lynyrd Skynyrd, Marshall Tucker and more before being convinced to let his bass do the talking. He became the bass player and songwriter for Black Oak Arkansas until they disbanded in 1980. Since, Andy has continued to play and has released Songs From The New South, an album that features Cody Dickinson and others and took Andy 4 years to complete.

Andy and I spoke of his long wonderful career, laughing at times over stories long since told.  Andy is beginning a new chapter working to meld the older Memphis Blues with the new Memphis Blues and we also discussed that journey.
