SO, the rain forced Day 2 of the Oxford Blues Fest inside and the cool owners of The Corner Bar (Hudson & His Partner...forgot his dang name!) were cool enough to let the Fest use their bar.

Deal was, the music had to stop by 9:30pm, because they had an EDM (electronic dance music) DJ coming in for the younger crowd...but things don't always end up as planned...now do they???

Day one of this adventure was opening night of the OXFORD BLUES FESTIVAL

Mother Nature spit on us on and off throughout the evening, but nothing horrible.

Opening night was THE JEFF JENSEN BAND, Bill Ruffino on bass, Robinson H. Bridgeford on drums and Jeff Jensen on guitar and vocals.

05/05/14 Winner of the WPD Contest Announced

This year at the Juke Joint Festival in Clarksdale, Jeff Jensen & Mick Kolassa were watching the people dancing and especially the white people and they started laughing.

See, on Mick's new album Michissippi Mick, there is a song called WPD (White People Dancing), so they decided a contest was in order.

Videos were requested and people sent in a ton, but one stood out over the others...

John 'blueshammer' Hammer submitted a video of Spike Stephen's dancing at the Bowlful of Blues put on by South Skunk Blues in Newton, IA 2013.

Mick came on the show to announce the winner...

Mick Kolassa celebrated the "44 Anniversary Of His 18th Birthday" on February 20, 2014.

On the same day Michissippi Mick was released. Mick's first album, filled with originals and covers that span the history of the blues.
