He grew up in Sarasota, and has been playing music "longer than I'd like to admit, luckily this makes me somewhat legendary in certain circles", as Slim likes to say.
He toured with Lucky Peterson and earned his "Sarasota Slim" nickname from local legend Rock Bottom.
